Sarah Clift

Past and Present Family Research

Sarah Clift, CG®, is a professional genealogist specializing in adoption and unknown parentage cases and genetic genealogy (DNA) analysis. She is based in the Sacramento area of California. 

Sarah's education includes a bachelor of general studies from Brigham Young University, a certificate in genealogical research from Boston University, and completion of the ProGen Study Program. She has participated in numerous conferences and practicums. 

Sarah began Past and Present Family Research in 2017. From 2018 to 2022, she was an online adjunct faculty member of the Family History and Genealogy program at Brigham Young University-Idaho. During her time there, she taught and developed courses in methodology, writing, and genetic genealogy. In 2020, she co-founded Olive Branch Connections, a nonprofit that provides free family history research services to the communities' mos burdened individuals.

In May 2022, Sarah earned the Certified Genealogist® credential. 

The words Certified Genealogist and its acronym, CG, are registered certification marks of the Board for Certification of Genealogists®, used under license by authorized associates following peer-reviewed competency evaluations.
